A great client is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Technician to join their team on a 6-month contract. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining additive manufacturing equipment to produce high-quality parts and prototypes.
Key duties include preparing 3D models for printing, overseeing the printing process, performing post-processing tasks, and ensuring all parts meet design and quality specifications. You will collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to optimize designs for manufacturability, troubleshoot equipment issues, and contribute to process improvements.
Additionally, you will maintain accurate production documentation and conduct quality inspections to ensure the highest standards are met.

responsibilities:
- Operate additive manufacturing equipment to produce precision parts and prototypes that meet or exceed dimensional, material, and functional specifications.
- Prepare 3D models for printing, ensuring all files are correctly formatted and ready for production.
- Manage the 3D printing process, including monitoring performance and troubleshooting any equipment issues that arise.
- Perform post-processing tasks such as support removal, finishing, and surface treatments to meet project requirements.
- Conduct quality inspections using measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, and CMMs to ensure all parts meet design and quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize designs for manufacturability and provide technical guidance as needed.
- Maintain and calibrate 3D printing equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Keep accurate records of build parameters, material usage, equipment status, and production process outcomes.
- Ensure raw materials and consumables are available for ongoing projects and manage inventory levels, providing updates to the supply chain team.
- Identify opportunities to improve additive manufacturing processes, including enhancing efficiency, reducing waste, and maintaining consistency.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field are a plus.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to printing processes and equipment.
- Knowledge of quality assurance practices, including dimensional inspections and part validation.
- strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
- Physical ability to handle and manipulate manufacturing equipment and materials, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
