Job Description

The Plant Controller will be responsible for managing the financial functions of the plant, including budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and financial reporting. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills who can collaborate with plant leadership to drive financial performance and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of financial reporting for the plant, including month-end close, financial statements, and variance analysis.
  • Develop and maintain the plant's budget, forecast, and financial projections.
  • Provide detailed cost analysis for manufacturing operations, including labor, materials, overhead, and production efficiency.
  • Monitor and control plant spending, ensuring costs are aligned with the budget and identifying opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvements.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports for management, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Oversee inventory management, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
  • Support pricing decisions by providing cost estimates and margin analysis for new products or changes in production processes.
  • Work closely with plant management and department heads to develop cost-saving initiatives and enhance profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and accounting standards.
  • Lead the internal audit process and work with external auditors as needed.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership for business decision-making.

The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA certification preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Plant Controller or in a similar financial role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with various departments and senior management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on improving financial processes and controlling costs.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
