This role involves loading, unloading, moving, and managing inventory to ensure efficient operations, meeting quality and safety standards. Attention to detail, good organizational skills, and adherence to safety protocols are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving and Inspection
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing lists and purchase orders.
- Report discrepancies or damages to supervisors and assist with proper documentation.
- Material Handling
- Safely load and unload products from delivery vehicles and place them in designated storage areas.
- Use equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move items within the warehouse.
- Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels and update inventory systems as necessary.
- Perform regular stock counts and assist in inventory audits.
- Organize inventory to optimize storage space and accessibility.
- Order Fulfillment
- Retrieve and prepare materials and products for production or shipping according to factory needs.
- Package, label, and document items for delivery, ensuring quality and accuracy.
- Safety and Maintenance
- Adhere to warehouse safety policies and procedures to minimize hazards.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance on warehouse equipment, reporting any malfunctions.
- Keep warehouse areas clean, organized, and free of obstructions to ensure a safe working environment.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Complete necessary paperwork for receiving, storing, and dispatching goods.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding inventory needs, shortages, or quality issues.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse or similar setting, preferably in furniture or manufacturing.
- Skills:
- Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (certification preferred).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail for quality control.
- Basic math and record-keeping skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds), stand for long periods, and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
