We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Assistant in Longboat Key, Florida. As an Accounting Assistant, you will be responsible for a variety of duties, including handling invoices, maintaining accurate records, and managing both accounts payable and receivable.
This position requires the candidate to be onsite from Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Responsibilities:- Accurately process invoices received via mail or email
- Review invoices and forward them for approval to the appropriate department
- Ensure all invoices are correctly coded with GL codes
- Assist in the management of accounts payable by entering data into the Yardi system and issuing checks
- Handle accounts receivable tasks, with a focus on direct deposits
- Manage the Yardi owner's portal, ensuring payments are posted correctly to owner's accounts
- Handle manual tasks such as scanning documents or making bank runs as required
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all transactions. • Proficiency in various accounting functions
- Practical experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
- Demonstrable skills with Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Familiarity and hands-on experience with Yardi Breeze software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Excellent numerical skills and ability to handle large volumes of data
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot accounting discrepancies
- Good understanding of accounting principles and regulations
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field preferred
- Prior experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
