Sr. Advanced Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Advanced Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This role is pivotal in leading mechanical design, development, and testing efforts, driving innovation, and ensuring the successful implementation of cutting-edge engineering solutions.
As a technical leader, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the advancement of Hayward’s product and technology portfolio.
Responsibilities:
Mechanical Design & Development- Lead the design, analysis, and development of mechanical systems and components to ensure optimal performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct stress, thermal, and fluid dynamics simulations using industry-standard software (e.g., ANSYS, SolidWorks, MATLAB).
- Oversee the creation of detailed technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, test plans, and reports.
- Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Drive the development and implementation of prototypes, working closely with manufacturing teams to validate designs and iterate solutions.
- Develop and execute test plans, analyze performance data, and implement design improvements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical design issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Work closely with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to define project requirements and design specifications.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery, quality assurance, and budget adherence.
- Continuously improve engineering processes and methodologies to enhance product efficiency and quality.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 6-8+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development with a strong track record of successful product launches.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus, CFD).
- Deep knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with product testing and validation, including creating test plans and analyzing results.
- Experience with pumps, valves, or filters is a plus.
- Experience with injection-molded and blow-molded plastics is a plus.
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and innovatively.
- Proven ability to lead projects and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ASME, ISO, NSF, UL).
