We are offering a contract for a permanent position in Bridgewater, New Jersey, for a Datacenter Technician. This role falls within the IT industry and involves significant hands-on work in a data center environment, handling servers, network equipment, and other critical infrastructure.
As a Datacenter Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining system performance, troubleshooting issues, and adhering to operational protocols to ensure optimal uptime.
Responsibilities:
- Handle the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, network devices, and storage systems.
- Conduct hardware diagnostics, repairing or replacing faulty components as necessary.
- Ensure proper cabling and connectivity between devices.
- Monitor data center systems and environmental conditions, including temperature and power.
- Quickly identify and rectify hardware, software, and network issues.
- Escalate complex technical problems to more experienced support teams or vendors when necessary.
- Perform routine system checks, updates, and patches.
- Support network configuration and connectivity tasks.
- Maintain an inventory and documentation of hardware, software, and network configurations.
- Strictly adhere to data center protocols and security standards.
- Assist in capacity planning and resource allocation.
- Ensure all systems are in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement and support data center projects.
- Provide regular updates on system health, performance, and incidents.
- Document procedures, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions for knowledge sharing.
- Proficiency in Android Development is required.
- Familiarity with Cisco Technologies is essential.
