Staff Accountant

We are offering a contract for a Staff Accountant position in Sterling, Virginia. The successful candidate will be joining our team in the industry, where they will be tasked with handling a variety of accounting responsibilities. This role is primarily based in the office.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the Accounts Payable (AP) review process
• Participate in the Month End Close activities, which include management of fixed assets and prepaid schedules
• Conduct thorough account and bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy
• Monitor and reconcile inventory records
• Handle check runs to ensure efficient financial operations
• Prepare and maintain journal entries in the General Ledger
• Utilize Viewpoint Vista and Microsoft Excel to perform tasks effectively
• Potential involvement in minor human resources functions. • The job requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of accounting.
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) operations is necessary.
• Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) operations is necessary.
• The candidate must have experience in performing Bank Reconciliations.
• Familiarity with maintaining the General Ledger is a must.
• Experience in preparing Journal Entries is required.
• The candidate should be capable of handling Month End Close activities.
• Account Reconciliation skills are required for this role.
• The candidate needs to have experience in Inventory Reconciliation.
• The ability to conduct Check Runs is necessary.
• Proficiency in using Viewpoint Vista software is a must.
• The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
