LPN- Acute Care- Overnights

Overview:

*** Up to $10,000 SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE ***

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Physician, The LPN assists in the delivery of care to patients within the Acute Care Unit. Provides age appropriate patient care.

Qualifications:

Licensure/Certification/Registry:

• Current LPN license in the State of Illinois required.
• Healthcare Provider or Instructor BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities:

1. Provides direct care to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Physician.
2. Assists in executing physician orders as directed.
3. Documents care given in computerized medical record according to policies and procedures.
4. Evaluates patient progress toward attainment of goals, revising plan of care when indicated
5. Builds teamwork while delivering care to patients.
6. Maintains open, effective communication with other members of the patient care team re: patient status and all aspects of care.
7. Documents patient care according to policies and procedures.
8. Assists in assuring all equipment and supplies are present in adequate volumes and working order.
9. Precepts new nursing employees and/or nursing students.
10. Identifies & resolves safety risks.
11. Participates in continuous quality improvement, periodic review of policies, procedures and pre-printed physicians orders.
12. Assists in identifying and resolving patient care problems or process related issues on the unit and between departments.
13. Assists with educational activities for other staff on the nursing unit.
14. Performs other related work as required or requested.
