Sr. Accountant

We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team in the Professional Services industry located in Sudbury, Massachusetts. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be tasked with a range of responsibilities including processing payroll, preparing data for audits, reconciling bank and credit card statements, and participating in higher-level accounting projects.

Responsibilities:
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements to maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare bi-weekly and monthly payroll, ensuring the accuracy of timesheets, departmental assignments, and tip calculations.
- Process homeowner statements and inter-company accounting tasks to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Prepare data for audit requests such as 401K and workman’s compensation.
- Assist with year-end payroll projects like W-2 and 1095 preparation.
- Conduct general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records.
- Participate in higher-level ad-hoc accounting projects to optimize the accounting function.
- Verify timesheet accuracy and generate associated reports for management.
- Utilize various software systems for accounting tasks, including Sage Intacct, Resort Data Processing, Positouch, YellowDog, and ADP Workforce Now.
- Prepare annual reports to provide an overview of the company's financial status.
- Proficiency in account reconciliation is essential
- Expertise in balance sheet reconciliation is required
- Experience in bank reconciliations is necessary
- Proficiency in general ledger management is a must
- Skilled in preparing and managing journal entries
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Experience in month end close procedures is needed
- Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now is desirable
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
