Houston - Estimator

A construction North Houston is in need of a Construction Estimator on a temporary to full-time basis. The Construction Estimator will be responsible for tasks such as construction estimating, quantity take-offs, cost management, communication, and budgeting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cost Estimation to provide an accurate estimate of the total cost and help ensure that the project stays within budget.
• Bid Preparation, update, and revise estimates
• Collaboration with Project Teams, which includes working with Sales Dept, Construction Dept, and clients to determine the scope of work and create detailed cost breakdowns for each aspect of a project.
• Cost control, review contracts and specifications

Skills & Qualifications:

• Construction estimating and quantity take-off skills
• Cost management and budgeting abilities
• Strong client communication skills
• Experience in commercial construction, especially within landscaping, hardscape, or pools is preferred.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in estimations
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools
• Degree in project management or related field or 2+ years of experience
• Reviewing blueprints and other documents to understand the project scope.
• Obtaining quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services.
• Preparing detailed cost estimates based on the materials, labor, and overhead costs.
• Managing project timelines and coordinating with other departments to ensure that costs are kept in line with the budget.
• Analyzing project risks and helping identify areas that might lead to cost overruns.
