Transportation Technician

We are looking for a Technician to support the Transportation group. The Technician is responsible for preparing and assembling technical reports and documents. Prior experience with technical document production or college-level report writing is preferred.On-the-job training will be provided as needed.
The Technician reports directly to the Director of Traffic Services and may work closely with any staff member in the Transportation group.

Responsibilities:
- Support the Director and department staff through assistance in the preparation of technical reports and documents
- Perform assigned work independently and with little oversight or guidance from the Director or staff to meet project deadlines and goals
- Initiate and assume responsibility for communication with internal and external team members
- Proactively communicate, organize, and complete tasks as needed to meet assigned schedules and deadlines
- Prepare and assemble complete reports and documents for review and submission
- Track project schedules, completed tasks, and other project assignments
- Perform format, grammar, and spelling check of all assigned reports and documents
- Conduct established quality control checks and reviews of your own work and other assigned work
- Conduct responsibilities with a professional demeanor and while adhering to ethics, NV5 Core Values, and appropriate technical standards
- Assist in preparation of presentation contents and graphics
Qualifications:
- BA or BS degree preferred and experience with college-level report writing OR
- AA or AS degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a professional setting, including experience with college-level report writing
- Valid driver’s license

- This position will be subject to indoor and outside environmental conditions, including weather conditions such as wet and /or humid environments, extreme cold and/or heat, dusty and noisy work environments.
- Work will primarily be in the field involving long term standing and frequent walking as well as include common hazards at construction and project sites.
- Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to walk over rough and uneven terrain and be able to stand up to 10-12 hours a day on occasion.
- Must have the ability to see, smell, hear, talk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and twist, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, sit, stand, and walk.
- Weekend and overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required.
- Additional physical duties may be required as necessary.
