Speech/Language Pathologist - Manalapan Outpatient
Overview:
Provides diagnostic and therapeutic services, patient/family counseling, and appropriate referrals as necessary to outpatients exhibiting a speech, language, hearing or swallowing disorder.
***Position is for new outpatient Manalapan location opening in March
Responsibilities:
- Effectively evaluates the patient's performance in any communicative disorders.
- Develops appropriate therapeutic plan based on patient assessment and physician's orders.
- Observes patient/resident progress and updates plan as indicated.
- Provides therapy for all types of speech language hearing and swallowing disorders.
- Coordinates care plan with other healthcare providers.
- Provides education to the patient/family regarding the disease processes and planned treatment/intervention. Provides instruction in the areas of health promotion, activity and medication as appropriate.
- Evaluates the patient's progress, goal attainment and need for further services following discharge.
- Documents results of diagnostic evaluations, care plan and Resident progress in medical record.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in speech pathology required
- Minimum one year or experience in rehabilitation with adult speech/language-impaired populations preferred
- CCC-SLP Speech Pathology license required New Jersey
- Strong customer service skills
