Assistant Controller

We are seeking an Assistant Controller to join our team. In this role, you will manage accounting personnel, ensure precise and prompt sales and production reporting, and handle various other responsibilities related to cost systems, general ledger, and forecasting.

• Manage accounting personnel and foster their detail-oriented development
• Ensure prompt and precise sales and production reporting
• Monitor and manage cash balances while preparing cash forecasts
• Collaborate with external accountants for tax return preparation as needed
• Maintain efficient costing systems for all products and evaluate variances to historical results
• Regularly update and review raw material and other costs
• Oversee the precision and timeliness of all company financial statements, including analysis and reporting of variances to historical results
• Ensure that variances on comparative financial statements are understood and explained
• Accountable for financial reporting of inventory balances and trends on a weekly and monthly basis
• Perform monthly balance sheet evaluations and reconciliations in accordance with GAAP
• Prepare and present performance results of the company to the management team and at board meetings
• Coordinate and prepare weekly short-term cash forecasts for all companies
• Develop and prepare rolling twelve-month financial forecasts, including cash flows
• Ensure an appropriate internal control environment and implement required internal control measures
• Participate in the selection and implementation of new ERP systems
• Prepare and maintain files of all regulatory and corporate governance documents including board minutes. • Position requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential
• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is required
• Experience with Concur is a must
• Knowledge of Crystal Reports is necessary
• Understanding of DCAA regulations and procedures is important
• Ability to handle all Accounting Functions effectively
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Auditing skills and experience are required
• Ability to handle Billing Functions efficiently
• Knowledge of Cost Accounting is necessary
• Proficiency in Financial Reporting is crucial
