Billing Clerk

This is a role that requires precision, organization skills, and a strong understanding of medical coding and billing procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately coding services, procedures, diagnoses, and treatments for billing.
• Preparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims using billing software.
• Checking each insurance company's payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discount.
• Following up on unpaid claims within the standard billing timeframe.
• Investigating rejected claim to see why denial was issued.
• Assisting in patient queries related to charges and services.
• Managing and maintaining patient's billing records.
• Reporting to management on outstanding issues and informing them when these types of issues are resolved.
• High school diploma or equivalent. Degree in relevant field is an advantage.
• A minimum of 2 years' experience as a medical billing clerk or similar role.
• Familiarity with medical software and MS Office.
• Excellent organization and multitasking skills.
