Overview:

The Manager of IT/IS - Applications (Business Applications) provides strategic leadership, coordination, and oversight of the Enterprise Business Application Portfolio and the dedicated Application Team. This role is pivotal in aligning business needs with the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the organization's Business Applications roadmap.
Key responsibilities include evaluating and interpreting business requirements, functional specifications, and process flows to guide the development of the application portfolio. The Manager ensures smooth daily operations of the Business Applications team, including prioritizing tasks, anticipating and resolving issues, and driving process improvements for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
Additionally, this role involves mentoring the team, fostering skill development, and coordinating both internal and external projects in collaboration with Joint Tech staff and external vendors. Responsible for communicating barriers to the Joint Tech Directors and CIO and adhering to the expectations of the CIO.

The Business Applications Manager will be expected to perform other duties as assigned to execute the tasks related to the Enterprise and Joint Tech initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions
  • Manage the analysis of business needs and processes to assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's Business Application portfolio.
  • Implements policies and procedures to analyze system performance, ensure operational effectiveness, and drive continuous process improvement.
  • Collaborates with Director of Enterprise Applications and cross-functional teams to identify needs and validate the portfolio of Enterprise Business Applications aligns with business processes and goals. Evaluates and reviews business requirements, functional specifications, and process maps to serve as a reference for the organization.
  • Perform vendor and contract management and oversight as needed.
  • Monitor health, usage and overall compliance of the Enterprise Business Applications to ensure reliability, security, and efficiency.
  • Directly manage staff, including hiring, firing, assigning and prioritizing work, setting employee goals, reviewing team performance metrics, leading regular team meetings, and completing performance reviews.
  • Provide direction to staff responsible for deployment, maintenance and manage advanced support of the
  • Enterprise Business Applications, coordinating efforts with User Support, Network Administrators and Engineers, developers and other staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with Project Management Office (PMO) staff and serve as a subject matter expert (SME) during project planning to ensure that applications meet business requirement and system goals.
  • Leverage your knowledge and experience to ideate end-to-end solutions for Enterprise Business Applications portfolio. Including but not limited to SharePoint, RightFax, CCaaS, Unified Communication Platforms,
  • Tableau/Power Bi.
  • Manage development and maintenance of internal technical documentation, manuals, policies, and processes.
  • Ability to effectively assess and prioritize incoming platform work value based on reach, impact, complexity and effort.
  • Can work outside of standard business hours. This position requires, on occasion, the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's Degree Plus 5 years experience Managing multiple Enterprise Business

Applications

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • 8 years of relevant work experience
  • 5 years of experience managing a team in a Unified Communications, CCaaS, ERP or CRM environments
  • 5 years of experience in business process analysis, requirements analysis, requirements gathering, solution design and development/implementation, vendor management, and enterprise application support (MS Applications, CCaaS, SharePoint, ERP/CRM, BI tools) and a strong business understanding.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 4 years of IT Systems management experience; experience with telecommunication/VOIP systems, BI tools and applications; cloud hosted applications.
  • 3 years of experience with end user testing and acceptance criteria and process

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) (Foundational) Certification (Upon Hire)
