Staff Accountant

We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the non-profit industry, based in Jacksonville, Florida. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who is open to learning and capable of working on multiple projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting functions.
Responsibilities:
- Handle the processing of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Perform bank reconciliations regularly to ensure accuracy
- Maintain the general ledger and make necessary adjustments
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries
- Conduct month-end close activities and year-end closings
- Utilize NetSuite for various accounting functions
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account reconciliation
- Perform daily reconciliation tasks to ensure financial accuracy
- Handle credit card reconciliation and cash reconciliations
- Ensure debits and credits are accurately recorded.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar position
- Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management
- Competence in Bank Reconciliations and Balance Sheet Reconciliation
- Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance and Journal Entries
- Experience with Month End Close procedures and Year End Closings
- Knowledge of NetSuite and Great Plains (GPAC) accounting software
- Ability to perform Adjusting Journal Entries and Post Journal Entries
- Experience in preparing and reviewing Monthly Journal Entries
- Understanding of basic accounting principles, including Debits and Credit operations
- Proficiency in performing Monthly Bank Reconciliation and Credit Card Reconciliation
- Experience in Cash Reconciliations and Bank Account Reconciliation
- Ability to perform Account Reconciliation and Financial Reconciliation
- Experience in conducting Daily Reconciliation and Month-end Close Activities
- Proficiency in preparing and reviewing Month-end Financial statements.
