Surgical Technician

If you are looking for a rewarding career in the facial plastic surgery industry, apply now to join our team as a Surgical Technician. This position is based in an Ambulatory Surgery Center, where you will have the opportunity to work along side a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.

Assists the surgeon by providing and controlling surgical instruments and equipment during surgery. Ensures that instruments and supplies are cleaned, sterilized and available as needed. Provides hands on assisting with procedures. In addition, the surgical assistant will assist the surgeon in day-to-day clinic flow when needed.

Responsibilities:

Under close supervision of the surgeon and the RN, the surgical technologist will:

• assists the surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeon as needed.
• assist in preeparing and moving patients.
• demonstrates and adheres to priciples of aseptic techniques.
• demonstrate knowledge of basic set-up for surgical procedures.
• assist to ensure patient safety.
• perform routine tasks relating to the decontamination, processing, sterilization and distribution of instruments, equipment and sterile supplies.
• responsible for general operating and monitoring of sterilization equipment.
• perform additional dutires such as post op care, discharging, suture removal, and folow up visits.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited program of surgical technology OR Medical Assisting, required
• CST (Certified Surgical Technician) OR Certified Dermatology Technician (CDT), required
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), preferred
• Plastic Surgery experience preferred
