Dallas - Senior Operations Manager, US Fulfillment, Amazon Transportation Services
If so, Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) is looking for an Senior Operations Manager responsible for the strategic streamlining of border crossing operations to enable the access of products from US Fulfillment to our customers in Mexico.
Candidates for this role must be capable of negotiating with carriers, couriers, warehouse operators or distribution networks to design the best possible cost to serve for our clients and the business. The role is expected to prepare and be accountable for the organization performance (monthly and quarterly business reviews), Peak readiness docs, and PRFAQ as needed.This role is expected to align and negotiate with senior management to drive projects that improve speed of delivery, cost to serve, and operational efficiencies.
Role is located in Laredo, Texas, USA with flexibility to travel to Mexico City and to any other US/MX border cities such as Tijuana-San Diego, Ciudad Juarez-El Paso.
The ideal candidate is decisive and able to make decisions at critical times and whilst under pressure. You must be able to lead a team and be sensitive to the needs of others, demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
Key job responsibilities- Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Business Reviews with 3P couriers to ensure data-driven improvements
- Onboarding of new couriers or logistic service partners, ensuring compliance with customs requirements for imports and exports
- Drive innovative solutions to simplify imports and exports processes in conjunction with tech and product teams
- Document writing and presentation to senior leadership for strategic program launches and expansion
- Aligning mid term and long term strategies for cross border operations working backwards from customer experience
- Launch 3P managed operations at different border crossing locations
- Design lean ops structures including mechanical and labor capacity and drive implementation with 3P- 3+ years of employee and performance management experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays- 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
