Responsibilities:
Job Purpose
The role of a Prep Cook is to prepare base ingredients for our Line Cooks to use in order to prepare and assemble menu items. You will be responsible for prepping items such as proteins, sliced deli meats and cheese, sauces, etc.
Requirements- Prepare ingredients for service, including but not limited to chopping, portioning, mixing, etc.
- Clean up station and label items for proper storage
- Work quickly and efficiently to ensure timely and efficient delivery of ingredients for station use
- Comply with health and sanitation regulations
- Assist management in training new staff members within your department when applicable
- Communicate to management all job functions need
- Perform other duties as requested by management
Qualifications:
Qualifications and Skills- Previous high volume culinary experience, multiple stations a plus, but not required
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high energy and physically demanding environment
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Must be able to carry loads greater than 35 pounds and exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Work schedule varies and will include working on nights and weekends, and requires standing and/or walking for extended periods
- Can withstand working with wet floors and high temperatures
- Frequently wash hands and/or wear gloves
- Safe food handler’s certification will be required after training period
Compensation
$13-$15hr.
