Job Summary:
Our team is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to assist in maintaining a positive physical, social, and psychological environment in accordance with the residents' needs and facility philosophy. As Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for repairs and preventative maintenance on Nursing Home/Assisted Living mechanical and electrical systems, environmental quality of facility, upkeep of all necessary logs per ACHA guidelines, NFPA guidelines, and OSHA compliance.

Job Duties:

  • Actively supports Lutheran Haven’s Mission and Ministry.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to be an effective team member by fostering positive relationships with teams and residents.
  • Maintains Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living facility mechanical and electrical systems in good repair and free from hazard.
  • Completes work orders and performs all required facility inspections in a timely fashion.
  • Keeps facility in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Keeps thorough records and logs up-to-date.
  • Performs fire drills, internal, and external disaster drills per code.
  • Must have good troubleshooting skills and be able to call on vendors for support.
  • Be part of, and facilitate as necessary, in-services for staff on Life Safety issues.
  • Know how to access NFPA 1 and 101 Life Safety Codes as well as keep up to date on code changes.
  • Coordinates annual building inspection with Seminole County Fire Marshall.
  • Maintains AHCA readiness at all times.
  • Sets up and breaks down of events.
  • Coordinates with SNF/ALF Administrators in regards to Comprehesive Emergency Management Plan for facility to ensure plan is up-to-date annually.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of one year of verifiable, successful experience in similar position and environment.
  • Ability to operate department equipment according to standard procedures.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and ability to function on a professional level with clients, staff, and other outside professionals during stressful or emotional situations.
  • Must successfully complete all assigned duties in a timely manner with reasonable accommodations based on the Americans with Disabilities Act.
