Litigation Associate

We are looking for a Litigation Associate to join our team in San Mateo, California. In this role, you'll independently manage the daily operations of case files and support other associates in managing their caseloads. You'll be involved in all phases of litigation, from taking depositions to trial preparation.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day file handling, ensuring all relevant information is accurately recorded and easily accessible
• Engage in all phases of litigation, providing comprehensive support from initial case analysis to trial preparation
• Draft summary judgments, prepare case management conference statements, and attend alternative dispute resolution proceedings
• Coordinate with paralegals, client service coordinators, and file assistants to delegate tasks and maintain workflow
• Conduct thorough legal research to support case development and strategy formation
• Prepare and review pleadings, law, and motions, particularly Motions for Summary Judgement
• Handle tasks related to discovery such as preparing and drafting Special Interrogatories, Requests for Production, and Requests for Admission
• Conduct party and expert depositions, preparing clients for depositions as needed
• Attend case management conferences and make appearances as needed
• Utilize various software tools such as Adobe Acrobat and Case Management Software for document management and case handling.
• Experience with Case Management Software
• Expertise in Document Management and Briefing
• Experience in Defense Litigation
• Knowledge of Litigation - Civil and handling Depositions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure
• Understanding of legal terminology and court proceedings
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• Active member of the State Bar
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
