IT Project Manager

Overview:
Soft Tech Consulting is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to fill the role of an IT Project Manager for one of our clients. The designated candidate for this position will join a collaborative team environment, providing support and expertise necessary toward the successful delivery of the project deliverables, and provide effective communication to all levels of staff for reporting status/progress.Primary work location is Washington, DC area with some potential for remote work.

PRIMARILY ON-SITE WITH POTENTIAL FOR REMOTE WORK, WITH CLIENT APPROVAL
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and support for project security and security projects.
- Report generation: run down on projects; IT report that goes to director level management every other week; Project reports to include project updates and project risks.
- Attend and participate in quarterly meeting with leadership on portfolio of projects.
- Support and continue to mature the PPM Toolset and PMO Site
- Perform analytics, report on and monitor trends, and track and report on resources (where they have people and where to move people).
- Create and facilitate IT enterprise portfolio review.
- Facilitate meetings: Information technology review, Information technology decision gate, contract reviews, off-site workshop.
- Integral in the creation of new documentation and processes such as; Integrated master schedule, projects pipeline, projects quad chart weekly deliverable, quarterly strategic plan review, solution delivery framework, and weekly information technology report is sent to the Office of the Managing Director.
- Facilitate and create Strategic Plan.
- Oversee all aspects of the project, leading a team on large projects or a significant segment of large and complex projects.
- Analyze new and complex project-related problems and create innovative solutions that normally involve the schedule, technology, methodology, tools, solution components, and financial management of the project.
- Provide applications systems analysis and long and short-range plans for application selection, systems development, systems maintenance, and production activities for necessary support resources.
- Commensurate experience and education for the specific level.
- Plans and leads major technology assignments.
- Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
- Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
- May supervise others.
- Leads team on large projects or significant segment of large complex projects.
- Analyzes new and complex project related problems and creates innovative solutions involving finance, scheduling, technology, methodology, tools, and solution components.
- Provides applications systems analysis and programming activities for a Government site, facility or multiple locations.
- Prepares long and short-range plans for application selection, systems development, systems maintenance, and production activities and for necessary support resources.
- Oversees all aspects of projects.
Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor's degree (IT or related field is preferred).
- Minimum of eight (8) years of directly related experience in IT Project Management technology solution delivery to include managing large scale IT hosted environments.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
- Expert knowledge in Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) methodologies and working knowledge of Agile solution delivery methodologies.
- Have strong experience functioning as a technical professional, and has prior experience in performing and completing project migrations.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure, security, and SDLC.
- Minimum (5) years of experience with Agile methodologies and project management.
- Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
- Minimium (5) years of experience as a team or task leader in a related area.
- Minimum (5) years of experience supporting/managing government projects.
- Able to perform senior level strategic planning.
- Excellent communication skills are a must.
- Motivated and driven to excellence.
