UF Health Leesburg Hospital has been serving the health care needs of our community for 58 years. The hospital offers advanced cardiac care including one of the largest cardiothoracic surgery programs in the state. Responsibilities:

The Medical Assistant works under the direction of the physician and in cooperation with the other office staff in assisting with safe and effective patient care in compliance with established standards and protocols of the practice and UF Health Central Florida goals and objectives

Qualifications:

Education:
  • Associates Degree Preferred
  • Post High School Special Training
  • High School Diploma/GED Licensure/Certification/Registration:
  • Current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant Preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) required or must be obtained within first month of employment.

Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR).

Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required:
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Prefer experience working with practice management systems
  • Must have 1 year experience working in physician office
  • Prefer experience with medical terminology
