Project Accountant
Overview:
Position: Project Accountant
This position will be responsible for all billings (both from subcontractors as well as to clients), job cost functions and reporting for specific projects within the accounting department.
The Project Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager. This is a full-time, exempt position.
Responsibilities:
- Invoice coding and data entry
- Subcontractor billing and processing
- Subcontract Document Control-lien releases
- Draw requests to Owner (send all information as required by owners such as accompanying schedules, copies of invoices, etc.)
- Assist in job audits
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, Word and other Office applications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Knowledge of AIA billings documentation
- Vista Viewpoint or similar construction software preferred
- Project accounting experience is desired
- Minimum of 1-year recent experience in accounting or a similar role within the construction industry
Working Conditions:
- The Project Accountants work is primarily performed indoors at Brinkmann’s corporate office
- This role requires regular office hours, with potential for extended hours during reporting cycles
- Light physical effort is required, including the handling of objects up to 10 pounds and some
- Standing, walking, sitting, talking and/or hearing
