Diesel Technician
DESCRIPTION**
We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Rocky Hill, CT.
You will make an impact in the following ways:
+ Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
+ Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
+ Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
+ Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
+ Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
+ Maintain own tools
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
**(Intermediate):**
+ Completes complex internal engine repairs
+ Performs engine overhauls with limited direct supervision
**(Advanced):**
+ Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools
+ Larger more complicated engine rebuilds
+ Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation **Education, Licenses, Certifications:** Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit (Preferred) This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.**Experience:** Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Hours Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Hours are subject to change due to business needs
This is a union position and candidate will need to join union- A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
- This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.
