Responsibilities:
Job Summary
As a member of a multidisciplinary medical team, the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will work collaboratively to deliver high quality, direct clinical care at AdCare Rhode Island.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs psychiatric evaluations, follow-ups, detox management, and MAT as per SOP
- Psych Evals within 48 hours of admission/provider/month (Psychiatry)
- Orders labs and other clinically appropriate testing and prescribes medications and treatments
- Participates in the development and implementation of treatment plans
- Consult with other physicians/clinicians about each patient’s specific need and refers to specialists as necessary
- Documents all patient encounters and diagnostic test results accurately and timely in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Participates as an active member of the clinical team
- Attends monthly medical staff meetings with pertinent clinical staff and UR
- Other duties as assigned including but not limited to participate on clinical/medical committees, providing education and quality review.
- Establishes positive, professional relationships with local medical community and within the organization
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Comply with all applicable laws to physicians including HIPAA and title 42 CFR
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), bedside manner and time management skills
- Demonstrate effective teamwork
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with persons from diverse socioeconomic, education, racial, ethnic and professional backgrounds
- Computer literate with the ability to appropriately utilize EMR system
- Organize and prioritize workload to provide high quality care and meet deadlines
- Meet and maintain facility credentialing and privileging requirements
- Consistently demonstrate positive customer service attitude
- Maintain the highest ethical and moral standards among all – employees, contractors, patients and members of the general public
- If more than one facility, travel between facilities
- Willing to work evening hours and weekends if necessary
- Upholds the policies and procedures of AdCare Rhode Island and American Addiction Centers

Certifications and Licenses:
- Current, unrestricted license, Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, in the state of Rhode Island
- Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification
- Current, unrestricted DEA Certification
- Current BLS Certification required (ACLS preferred)
