Position Overview
The Prep/Pantry Cook supports our culinary program by preparing ingredients and maintaining our cold kitchen items, ensuring the highest quality ingredients for our Mediterranean-California coastal cuisine.
Essential Responsibilities- Execute daily prep lists according to specifications
- Prepare salads, cold appetizers, and garnishes
- Maintain freshness and quality of prepared items
- Follow proper food storage procedures
- Support line cooks during service periods
- Maintain clean and organized work station
- Monitor ingredient quality and freshness
- Assist with inventory and ordering
- 1+ year kitchen experience
- Strong knife skills
- Knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation
- Food Handler's certification
- Understanding of proper food storage
- Ability to read and follow recipes
- Basic math skills for scaling recipes
- Culinary school training
- Experience with Mediterranean cuisine
- Knowledge of specialty diets
- Previous experience in fine dining
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Manual dexterity for using kitchen equipment
- Ability to work in varying temperatures
