Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Sales & Marketing, the Marketing & Sustainability Coordinator coordinates and implements the marketing and communications functions of the Marketing Department of the Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC) & its campus (Pride Park, Collins Canal Park, Rum Room, and Venu) through online and digital marketing, social media, sponsorship, communications, promotional activities, and marketing collateral.

Enhances the brand image of the venue and its campus while promoting goodwill in the community and industry. An important function of this position is to coordinate, plan, implement, track, analyze and communicate the MBCC’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability initiatives.

This role will pay an hourly rate between $26.81 to $27.81

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Digital Marketing & Communications:

  • Assists with coordinating the MBCC’s digital signage as a resource for sponsorship activations, event-related information, citywide information and/or venue information.
  • Assists with servicing event clients, uploading and maintaining digital advertising/sponsorship content into licensed digital signage content management software and coordinating with IT department for troubleshooting as appropriate.
  • Coordinates revenue generation from event clients and business advertisers.
  • Provides excellence in customer service to clients in a timely manner and produces accurate quotes and invoices.
  • Assists with day-to-day content & execution of all social media platforms, including (but not limited to) Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and Pinterest.
  • Implements online and website updates including event calendar information, blog posts, video content, advertising & sponsorships, current photos, special announcements and other website content.
  • Assists in the development of marketing materials, presentations and procedures to have the MBCC Sales and Marketing Departments function effectively as an in-house agency.
  • Works with the sales & marketing department on opportunities to cross sell corporate partners.
  • Participates in weekly marketing department meetings and assists with planning, tracking, and reporting marketing activities.
  • Remains current with emerging internet marketing trends, tactics, strategies, and technologies.
  • Assists with optimizing data, digital systems integrations and lead generation sources.
  • Works with digital selling strategies via LinkedIn, Cvent, and emerging online platforms, including the implementation and usage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools.
  • Assists with developing and implementing sales and marketing plans to promote and sell the MBCC and its campus.
  • Assists the Director of Sales & Marketing with any communications duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability:

  • Coordinates, implements, documents, analyzes and communicates the MBCC’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability initiatives: environmental and social.
  • Remains current with local & regional government, community and industry-wide sustainability programs and efforts, climate action plans, recycling, composting, food waste reduction, charitable donations, carbon neutral plans, renewable energy and green building initiatives.
  • Acquires knowledge about sustainability topics, issues and solutions for the event industry via industry webinars, courses and certificate programs, such as the Event Industry Council’s (EIC) “Sustainable Event Professional Certificate” (SEPC).
  • Coordinates the planning, implementation and tracking of all sustainability efforts at the MBCC between all departments using corporate tracking platforms, event booking management system, Excel spreadsheets, and client reports.
  • Coordinates sustainability tracking requests from clients and provides requested reports in a timely manner.
  • Participates in corporate, community and industry sustainability committees and project groups, and works with contracted sustainability consultants, the City of Miami Beach, vendors and suppliers.
  • Develops and maintains sustainability fact sheet, guidelines, plans and policies for the MBCC, its vendors, partners and clients.
  • Works as point-of-contact to research and identify solutions to advance and implement carbon neutral efforts as per suggested/standard event industry timelines.
  • Assists with sustainability awards submissions, news announcements and press releases.
  • Monitors, tracks and analyzes data, and creates management reports.
  • Identifies and works with local non-profits/charities and coordinates the MBCC’s Convention CARES donation program.
  • Assists the sales team in communicating and advising clients on available sustainability programs.
  • Coordinates social and environmental staff volunteering efforts.
  • Supports the MBCC’s CSR/Sustainability Committee Chair.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A. degree from four (4) year College in Marketing, Communications, or Business Administration required.
  • One (1) year minimum experience in digital marketing/communications.
  • One (1) year minimum experience with social media platforms and content marketing (visual storytelling) development and implementation.
  • Advanced knowledge/expertise or completed coursework/certificate in sustainability

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Language: Bilingual (English/ Spanish) a plus.
  • Technical Skills:Possess knowledge of the application of social media platforms, digital content management platforms and data analytics.
  • Communication: Organizes and expresses ideas and information clearly, using appropriate and efficient methods of conveying the information. Must have exceptional command of the English language, oral and written.   • Knowledge of the application of social media technology, search trends and social media innovation. Social media tools such as (Sprout Social, Canva, Facebook, Instagram (stories and reels), and Twitter).
  • Basic skills in photo and video editing and graphic design.
  • Basic knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools

WORK SCHEDULE:

The work schedule of this position typically involves a 5-day work week Monday through Friday; however, this will fluctuate based upon the needs of the community, a project and/or events. All employees in this position are expected to work in person at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
However, exceptions or modifications to this requirement may be considered and approved by senior leadership. Must have the ability to remain available 7 days per week, work long and irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Some travel as needed.
