NOW HIRING a Recycling Buyer to join our team!
POSITION OVERVIEW:
- Purchase PP incoming material streams to meet demand growth in FY 2025 and beyond. Specifically:
- Support existing PP and PE raw materials incoming business of 160 MM LBS.
- Coordinate with JET Polymers and find new materials feed streams for that site.
- Achieve business growth goal of $1B in sales by FY 2030.
- Support the IWT business through development, implementation, and maintenance of reporting tools to mine data and create business knowledge for decision-making. Examples:
- Cost trends for various material items, projections and impacting variables
- Historical reporting of supplier performance to be used in negotiation.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work within the Enterprise System (Enterprise One) to mine information and report same on ad hoc requests from all management levels including VP Manufacturing, Director of Operations, Controller, and ADS Recycling management.
- Maintain and update reports to track key metrics used to evaluate the management of raw material cost, quantities, and quality. The audience for this information includes ADS/IWT Executive Management, ADS/IWT Purchasing, and IWT local management.
- Manage a full complement of supplier contacts. Identify and qualify new material suppliers.
- In the Champion Manager’s absence, attend and supply reports on material levels and projections for production and manufacturing meetings.
- Conduct and maintain all daily work, follow up detail and communicate as necessary with suppliers, staff, other IWT departments and management.
- Work with the Quality Department to verify samples meet the required specification. This includes samples of incoming lots, vendor test materials, and development materials.
- Process all paperwork including, but not limited to, vendor samples, research and development, and incoming lot detail for quality.
- Prepare purchase orders and timelines for delivery.
- Maintains and understands the material inventory process.
QUALIFICATIONS (must have):
- Working Knowledge of Design and Reporting capabilities of the IWT Enterprise System: JDEdwards Enterprise One.
- Skilled in Data Mining Techniques and reporting of information. Includes use of Power BI, EXCEL PIVOT tables, relational database analysis and report generation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in the plastics industry, specifically polypropylene, polyethylene and PET.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in material purchasing.
- Degree in Business or Accounting preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS (beneficial):
- Database management skillset preferred. Data reporting, mining, required.
- Hands-on conversion experience for plastics, grinding, extrusions, float-sink technologies.
- 10+ years’ experience in plastics purchasing, post-industrial and/or post-consumer
