Job Summary:

  • The Senior Compliance Specialist is a key figure in upholding Ventra Health’s commitment to compliance and works closely with the Manager, Compliance. This role involves researching, developing, implementing, and enforcing standards for compliance; reviewing, revising, and drafting enterprise policies and procedures; leading investigations; educating staff; and offering guidance on compliance-related matters. The specialist works collaboratively across various departments to ensure the organization’s compliance framework is robust and effective.

Essential Functions and Tasks:

  • Assist with day-to-day management of Ventra’s compliance hotline and incident tracking system.
  • Identify, investigate, resolve, and report on compliance issues, irregularities, and violations.
  • Draft policies, procedures, work instructions, training, and other documents related to the Compliance Program.
  • Assist and collaborate with other departments to ensure that compliance related processes are identified, created, implemented, maintained, and improved.
  • Provide guidance to employees on the organization’s compliance policies and programs, and educate staff on applicable compliance rules, regulations, and best practices.
  • Prepare newsletters, articles, and communications in support of the compliance communication plan.
  • Assist with coordinating and facilitating quarterly compliance committee meetings to ensure ongoing awareness and adherence to regulations.
  • Develop specific expertise in one or more operational areas/processes and be the day-to-day lead for that function, including answering questions, solving problems, completing routine work, etc.
  • Assist with all other compliance related tasks and initiatives as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in healthcare compliance or closely related field, or similar regulatory/investigational roles in healthcare.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of healthcare compliance laws and regulatory elements involving federal (OIG, CMS, FCPA, FDA, etc.) and state requirements.
  • Revenue cycle management, coding, or other healthcare operations experience in Radiology, Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine and/or Hospital Medicine is strongly preferred.

  • Basic touch 10 key skills.
  • Basic Math skills.

  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel (pivot tables), and database software skills.
