Custodian Supervisor

Overview:

Starting salary may be adjusted depending on experience.

Qualifications:

• Three (3) years or more of paid custodial experience
• Ability to read, understand and follow oral and/or written policies, procedures and instructions
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffer/sweeper, etc.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain/maintain a City of Hoover Driver's Permit
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include some nights and weekends

Responsibilities:

Washes floors, furnishings, equipment, windows, doors and walls with cleaning solutions and disinfectants; monitors the elevators to ensure they are clean and clutter free at all times; cleans and maintains the restrooms, replenishes soap, tissue, towels and similar supplies; dusts and wipes cabinets, closets, shelves, vents, pictures and desks; collects trash receptacles both inside and outside of the buildings; sweeps, mops and dust floors, strip floors of old wax, applies new wax and buffs; maintains a complete and accurate housekeeping record; maintains an efficient inventory of janitorial and housekeeping supplies; paint, repair doors and locks, replaces lightbulbs and some general repairs; supervises the work of the custodial staff; supervises contract cleaning services, including carpet cleaning and window washing; assists with library events including set up, breakdown and general event assistance; assists with opening and closing the library facility; provides round the clock on-call support for any emergency situations requiring general maintenance; communicates and coordinates regularly with supervisor to maximize effectiveness and efficiency of operations and activities; performs related duties as required.
