Medical Technologist, Hematology

Overview:

The primary purpose of the Medical Technologist Hematology position is to independently perform

routine and complex laboratory analyses; assume responsibility for procedural and system controls, problem solving, teaching andsupervision under direction. Provides physicians with accurate and reliable analytical results necessary for the diagnosis/treatment of patients.

Responsibilities:

• Performs and demonstrates proficiency in all applicable lab testing and analyses the lab procedures
• Evaluates and reports results accurately to appropriate personnel
• Performs “STAT” Procedures
• Performs and logs maintenance procedures for equipment
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or a related field. ASCP certification or equivalent is preferred.
