Cost Accounting Manager

We are in search of a Cost Accounting Manager to join our team based in West Chester, Ohio. This role involves managing various aspects of cost accounting within our organization, ensuring technical accuracy of the P& L and Balance Sheet, and providing analytical support for operational cost efficiency.

Responsibilities- Oversee the standard costs of raw materials and finished goods in compliance with corporate policies.
- Aid in the calculation of standard direct labor and overhead cost rates annually.
- Analyze standard to actual Labor and Overhead variance.
- Support the Pricing Team by delivering current costing analytics.
- Assist in customer pricing updates on a quarterly basis.
- Collaborate on the preparation and execution of standard cost roll of Material, Packaging, and Labor costs.
- Work with R& D and Sales teams on the costing of new product development.
- Partner with Data Management for BOM setup and maintenance.
- Identify root causes of weekly/monthly variances and propose corrective action.
- Support Supply Chain function by forecasting and evaluating Purchase Price Variance.
- Assist in the calculations and accruals of pass-through material expenses.
- Review weekly Plant KPI’s and collaborate with plant personnel to improve accuracy of metrics.
- Collaborate with Site Controllers on the process and reporting of cost per pound metrics.
- Assist in the construction of Ad-Hoc costing analysis supporting Supply Chain and operations projects.
- Participate in the development of Corporate Standard Cost method and processes.
- Develop standardized weekly and monthly cost metric measurements across plant locations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field required
- Minimum of 5 years Cost Accounting experience
- Advanced understanding of costing methods, General Ledger associations and Income Statement impacts
- Food Industry experience, preferred
- Experience in Overhead Cost Absorption Allocation
- Excellent communication, relationship building and negotiating skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative ability
- Demonstrated solid working knowledge of Microsoft Applications, including Word & Excel (including spreadsheets)
- Must be a hands-on person who is comfortable with lean, fast-paced working environments.
