Position Overview:
Job Title: Staff AccountantLocation: St. Petersburg, FL
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday – Friday | 8:45 am – 5:30 pm(Saturdays may be required during tax season)
Compensation: Based off of experience and background- Starting at $65,000 annually

Job Summary:
As a Staff Accountant at SMG ABA, LLC, you'll play a crucial role in managing the financial tasks for multiple clients. Your responsibilities will include preparing profit and loss reports, processing payroll, handling taxes, and performing reconciliations.You'll ensure accuracy and compliance in all financial records while contributing to a team that values diligence, growth, and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile client accounts on a daily or weekly basis.
- Record entries from point-of-sale systems.
- Process payroll and manage clearing accounts.
- Perform bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations.
- Manage accounts payable and process vendor payments.
- Handle accounts receivable, including invoice generation and payment processing.
- Utilize bank feed features for efficient account mapping.
- Generate profit and loss reports and conduct financial analyses.
- Assist with payroll and sales tax preparation.
- Support monthly closeout procedures and ensure timely financial reporting.
What You’ll Need:
- 2-3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, with proficiency in QuickBooks.
- Strong understanding of journal entries, debits, and credits.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines with accuracy.
- Analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a strong client service orientation.
- Goal-oriented mindset with adaptability and a professional demeanor.
- Physical ability to sit for extended periods.
