Attorney/Lawyer - Baltimore

We are seeking an Attorney/Lawyer to join our team in BALTIMORE, Maryland. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity in the legal industry, where you will be involved in drafting and negotiating complex contracts, conducting legal research, and providing legal advice to city agencies.

Responsibilities:

• Draft, edit, and complete complex contracts, ensuring legal accuracy.
• Conduct legal research and advise city agencies on legal matters.
• Identify and address potential legal issues proactively.
• Negotiate contracts to secure the best terms for the city.
• Review and plan transactions efficiently and strategically.
• Create standard legal documents and manuals to improve workflow.
• Train and guide clients on legal processes.
• Represent the city at bid protests and administrative hearings.
• Manage multiple contracts and client deadlines.
• Use technology effectively, including Microsoft Office and Westlaw.
• Work independently and as part of a team to support department operations.

Qualifications for a good candidate:

• Licensed to practice law in Maryland
• At least 5 years of legal experience
• Expertise in Corporate Transactions and Transactional Law
• Skilled in Contract Negotiation and drafting
• Strong legal research abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• High professional ethics and integrity
• Strong client interaction skills
• Corporate experience preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal research tools
• Able to work independently and in a team
