As a Build Up & Test Technician, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our products and services meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Collaborate closely with our logistics and engineering teams to deliver flawless solutions that make a tangible impact on our customers' operations.

The day-to-day:

  • Collaborate with the logistics team to pull and replenish equipment that is returned or staged for specific job sites.
  • Gather, build, wire, configure, and test various components in electronics racks.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to rigorously test solutions and ensure they meet the required specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the build-up and testing phases.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of the build and test processes.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for continuous improvement in our build-up and testing procedures.
  • Ensure all equipment and configurations adhere strictly to Viasat's quality standards.
  • Support the coordination and logistics team to successfully implement projects for our end customers.

What you'll need:

  • Proven background in electronics, with hands-on experience in building and testing electronic components.
  • Strong understanding and experience in satellite, two-way radio, LTE, and microwave communications.
  • Solid background in IP LAN/WAN networks, including the ability to access and load configurations on Cisco routers and switches.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ambitious and motivated to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to compete and thrive under pressure, ensuring flawless delivery of projects.

What will help you on the job:

A strong back ground in stablized VSAT is a plus. We are looking for someone with recent experience as an offshore communications technician that is up to speed on current technology including KU, KA, LEO, LTE, two way radio, micowave, and networking.

Salary range: $31.15 - $52.26 / hourly
