We are offering an employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in the manufacturing industry in Roanoke, Virginia, 24012, United States. In this role, you will be expected to handle various accounts payable tasks, including maintaining vendor relations, handling credit and debit transactions, and managing sales and use tax utilizing Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities:

• Handle vendor invoices accurately and promptly
• Conduct thorough research and communicate with vendors as needed
• Efficiently manage sales and use tax operations
• Assist in clearing any backlog in accounts payable
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for various accounting functions
• Maintain and manage petty cash accounts, recording all disbursements
• Monitor vendor payment agreements to identify discounts for invoice reduction
• Contact customers to collect past due payments and set up payment plans
• Ensure accurate and efficient cash applications
• Handle credit and debit transactions with precision
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and practices.
• Sound understanding and application of Sales & Use Tax regulations.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with entering vendor invoices accurately and promptly.
• Familiarity with manufacturing industry financial processes and standards.
• Ability to maintain accurate financial records and prepare clear and accurate reports for informational, auditing and operational use.
• Excellent organizational skills for maintaining clear, concise and accurate accounts payable records.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information in a detail oriented and discrete manner.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong attention to detail for ensuring the accuracy of entered data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for liaising with vendors and other stakeholders.
