SMV Recruiting, LLC is actively looking for a Controller for our client in Syracuse, NY. Our client is well established manufacturing company who is looking for someone whos looking to advance their career and eventually move into a CFO role.
Ideally, they are looking for someone with at least 15+ years of accounting experience, coupled with 5+ manufacturing and cost accounting experience. Our client wants someone who is a team player, knows how to build/lead great team and company cultures.

Responsibilities- Supervise a 8 person accounting and finance team
- Oversee a CAPEX projects
- Prepare budgets, create schedules, analyzing financials and recommend plans and budgets
- Analyzing and summarize financial/industry trends
- Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures
- Heavy analysis work including variance analysis, cost analysis, trend analysis, etc.
- Present financials, budgets, and forecasts to senior leadership
- BS in Accounting or Finance
- 8-15 years of experience in accounting/fi
- 5+ years manufacturing experience
- 5+ years of cost accounting
- CPA and/or public experience preferred
- Strong leadership experience with a servant leader mentality
- Provides financial advice by studying operational issues; applying financial principles and practices; developing recommendations
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
