Business Analyst - Power/Gas Industry (Hybrid Role)
As a Business Analyst, you will act as a key liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring the successful documentation, analysis, and implementation of business requirements and system functionalities.
This role centers around analyzing functional capabilities in the energy sector, focusing on the integration and enhancement of digital platforms and systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Owners, Scrum Teams, and external partners, to deliver value-driven solutions aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Analysis and Documentation:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, document, and refine business requirements and functional specifications related to Power/Gas operations.
- Conduct functional analysis for digital platform features, identifying gaps and opportunities in ETRM systems.
- Create and maintain user story backlogs using Agile tools such as JIRA.
- Break down complex features into well-defined user stories and tasks for cross-functional teams.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Serve as a trusted intermediary between business users and technical teams, facilitating clear communication.
- Partner with internal and external customers to address system challenges, identify enhancements, and institutionalize solutions.
- Drive user acceptance by ensuring the alignment of system functionality with business needs.
Agile Support:
- Facilitate Agile team ceremonies (e.g., scoping, estimation sessions) and coordinate directly with Scrum Teams.
- Support backlog grooming, task creation, and Agile estimation sessions to assess functionality-related cross-team efforts.
Project Leadership:
- Coordinate resources and assist in planning for feature enablement on enterprise digital platforms.
- Review project progress, ensuring accuracy, timely delivery, and adherence to priorities.
Work Environment:
- Work Location: Hybrid work model, with in-office attendance required from Monday to Thursday.
- Industry Focus: The role necessitates familiarity with the Power/Gas market and the ETRM space.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Administration, or a related field.
- Alternatively, a High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of relevant work experience.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of business analysis experience with specific expertise in the Power/Gas industry.
- Hands-on experience using ETRM systems in professional settings is REQUIRED.
Skills & Tools:
- Proficient in Agile methodologies, including Scrum, and relevant tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Strong QA testing experience and familiarity with system design and analysis.
- Advanced communication, facilitation, and training skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders.
