Senior Manager, Data Scientist
About the Team:
The VIZIO Advertising, Technology, and Innovation team is looking for a highly talented and motivated Data Scientist to help build advertising technology products. We are looking for a dynamic employee to perform non-commoditized data work. The position can be held in one of several offices (San Francisco, Dallas, Denver, New York).
What You Will Do:
- Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and business stakeholders across Vizio and Walmart divisions.
- Lead the technical direction for model assessments, validation, deployment, and scaling, ensuring that the right methodologies are used and align with long-term business goals.
- Provide oversight to ensure the technical quality of data science projects, helping to identify the best approaches and ensure the correct application of machine learning techniques.
- Mentor other data scientists, helping them understand and apply the right scientific and technical methods.
- Stay ahead of emerging technologies, continuously applying new scientific insights and methods to improve existing solutions.
About You:
- Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- 8+ years’ experience working in advanced data science / data modeling, with 4+ years’ in ad-tech.
- Expertise in machine learning, statistical methods, and experimental design, with a deep understanding of their applications and long-term impact.
- Solid understanding of predictive analytics, mathematical modeling, and statistics (theory, algorithms, and application).
- Proven experience with model validation, deployment, and scaling, with a focus on ensuring that solutions are sustainable and robust for future growth.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and other relevant programming languages.
- High sense of ownership and results-driven.
- Deep knowledge of modern data science tools, big data technologies, and CI/CD frameworks.

For California-based employment: The minimum salary for this position is $143,000/year. The maximum salary for this position $286,000/year. In addition to base salary, the compensation package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, as well as equity and a range of medical, dental, vision and other benefits.
For Colorado-based employment: The target salary range is $121,000 - $242,000/year. In addition to base salary, the compensation package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, as well as equity and a range of medical, dental, vision and other benefits.
