π Location: Huntsville, ALβοΈ Travel: ~15% (Mostly domestic: KY & West Virginia, occasional international trips to Japan)
β³ Overtime: ~20% (especially during shutdown periods)
π What Youβll Be Doing:
π Performance Analysis: Analyze quality, cost, and delivery metrics to enhance powertrain unit performance.π Competitive Benchmarking: Research industry trends and evaluate competitors' powertrain technologies to stay ahead.
π° Cost Optimization: Work with cross-functional teams to reduce costs while maintaining top-tier quality.
π Process Improvement: Implement Lean & Kaizen methodologies to boost efficiency and streamline operations.
π€ Supplier Collaboration: Partner with suppliers to enhance component sourcing, negotiate terms, and improve material quality.
βοΈ New Technology Integration: Stay ahead of industry innovations, evaluating automation, CNC programming, and robotics for future implementation.
π’ Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to align strategies.
π Reporting & Presentation: Prepare performance dashboards, reports, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
β What You Bring (Must-Haves):
βοΈ Bachelorβs degree in Engineering or related field.βοΈ 2+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing, powertrain engineering, or related industry.
βοΈ Strong data analysis & problem-solving skills.
βοΈ Hands-on experience in cost optimization, process improvement, and project management.
βοΈ Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement methodologies.
βοΈ Excellent communication & teamwork abilities.
βοΈ Ability to perform root cause analysis and drive strategic solutions.
βοΈ Proficiency in Microsoft Office & data analysis tools.
β¨ Bonus Points If You Have:
π§ PLC experience (Toyopuc, Fanuc, Mitsubishi, etc.).π οΈ CNC programming & machining expertise.
π Assembly equipment & machine tooling experience.
π€ Knowledge of cobots & automation in manufacturing.
β‘ Experience setting up & troubleshooting robotic systems.
π Work Environment:
π’ Office vs. Floor: First 1-2 months ~70-80% desk work, then shifts to 50/50 or full-time on the floor troubleshooting PLC, automation, and machinery.π οΈ Hands-on Role: Expect to work directly with machines, programming, and controllers to improve processes.
