Tax Director
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Be a technical resource to all professionals in the firm.
Keep up technically and disseminate information to tax professionals and the remainder of firm as appropriate.
Establish and monitor policies and procedures to ensure adherence to professional standards and Circular 230.
Evaluate and determine tax research resource needs such as software and research materials
Service a book of clients
Consult with other professionals within the Firm on technical tax matters
Assist in the design, instruction, and evaluation of in-house CPE and training
Partner with firm operations group on Tax CPE requirements
Assist all client service teams as needed (i.e. manager level review of files, participating as a subject matter expert, etc.)
Develop strategic business development plan anticipating new tax service needs
Write articles and newsletters to disseminate tax law changes and issues to clients and prospective clients
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
CPA or J.D. is required. Advanced degree in Taxation (Master of Science in Taxation (MST) or Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.)) is preferred.
Must have deep and wide-ranging technical skills covering a variety of areas. Must be skilled at tax planning and consulting.
Must possess above average computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office programs with particular skills in building financial models in Excel.
Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in written format. A strong command of the English language and grammar is necessary
