Siemens Project Engineer

Overview:

Project Engineers own and lead project implementation with several concurrent small teams or a large team for projects. Provide systems integration engineering and technical expertise for customers. System design, programming, installation, and commissioning of automation projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Defines initial project scope.
  • Formally mentor younger engineers on technical matters as well as RoviSys culture and work ethic.
  • Process expertise to develop control strategies and functional specifications.
  • Choose components and generate bill of materials.
  • Work with Electrical Designers to develop project drawings.
  • Assist with installations and commissioning as required.
  • Working with equipment and instruments for automation and power management systems.
  • Troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Develop Life Cycle documents, Electrical panels, Control Architecture and wiring drawings per GMP standards
  • Redline P&ID documentation
  • Define and implement Siemens PCS 7 or S7 configurations
  • Testing and on-site commissioning and qualification of control systems
  • Develop engineering standards to improve efficiency and accuracy of project execution
  • Provide technical sales support to RoviSys business development team
  • Manage a large project or several concurrent small to medium projects for projects executed in multiple RoviSys offices and customer locations

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • 2-5 years of experience in automation or related field
  • Experience with Siemens PCS 7 or Siemens S7
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform technical and managerial responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with both customers and colleagues to present new ideas, accomplish challenging goals, and solve problems
  • Ability to guild a project with little supervision and guidance
  • Proven track record of managing small projects from start to finish
  • Thorough understanding of control system design and coding
  • Self-motivated, excellent communication skills, and enjoy working with people
  • Hands-on experience with current Siemens platforms

Desired Qualifications:

  • Electrical design fundamentals
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows
  • HMI/SCADA Software: WinCC, TIA Portal, Simatic Manager
  • Process Control Fundamentals
  • Understanding of batch or continuous process control, combustion control
  • Awareness of process safety, validation, and good documentation practices
  • Network design/administration
  • Knowledge of electrical design drawings and hardware
