E-Learning Developer
About the Role:
Culmen International is hiring an E-Learning Developer to support the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) Vision Center of Excellence (VCE) in Bethesda, Maryland.
The Vision Center of Excellence (VCE) was established in January 2008 by the Secretary of Defense in response to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for fiscal year 2008. The Vision Center of Excellence (VCE) was designed to lead and advocate for programs and initiatives with the following three inter-related goals: to improve vision health, optimize readiness, and enhance quality of life for Service members and Veterans.Through its efforts, VCE promotes collaboration, facilitates integration, and serves as an advocate for vision across DoD and Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare systems. VCE’s collaborative efforts with other federal healthcare organizations, academia and private sector organizations serve to enhance the development of program priorities supporting research and quality care initiatives.
What You’ll Do in Your New Role:
- Design, create, and implement digital learning materials and experiences for online education platforms
- Combine instructional design, multimedia development, and technology to create engaging and interactive e-learning content that facilitates effective learning outcomes
- Work closely with instructional designers, subject matter experts, and educators to understand learning objectives, design instructional materials, and develop interactive multimedia content such as videos, simulations, quizzes, and interactive exercises
- Consult and collaborate with subject matter experts, clinical staff, military, VA, federal, and other non-military clinicians in developing e-learning products and programs
- Investigate and apply all manner of modern and novel educational methods, such as simulation, distributed- and e-learning, and virtual reality, as well as traditional means
- Support the development video-based training (VBT), webinar and instruction courses
- Follow Government standards related to Section 508 compliance in the development of all education and training materials
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant disciplines such as educational technology, graphic design, or computer science.
- Experience in instructional design, educational technology, or a related field
- Familiarity with design principles and e-learning design and development
