We are seeking a Director of Civil Engineering to join our team in California. The Director of Civil Engineering will be a key member of the leadership team of civil engineering services for PBK’s statewide operations. You will regularly interact with PBK’s senior architectural management and prospective external clients and oversee project team performance and overall client satisfaction.

Your Impact:

  • Establish divisional goals and growth strategies that will allow the civil engineering division to serve nationwide PBK offices
  • Maintain a strong culture of client service and innovation within the civil group that is modeled after PBK’s core ideologies
  • Ensure that all projects are subjected to a thorough QA/QC review process
  • Participate in all state-wide strategic planning sessions with top California leadership
  • Monitor project performance standards, accountability, and efficiency
  • Manage the financial performance of the division with respect to staffing and profitability
  • Collaborate with the HR department to establish a plan of action to attract top-level talent

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Must be a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of California or acquire licensing within 3 months of hiring.
  • 15+ years of professional experience in engineering, including management experience
  • Extension experience working in site and land development
  • Client-oriented personality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience with K-12 education projects is a plus
  • Experience with DSA in California is a plus
The actual offered base salary for California locations will vary depending on factors such as individual qualifications, education, experience, skills, job-related knowledge, work location, and internal equity. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role will be at or near the top half of the range provided, but the decision will be dependent on the factors of each individual case.

The compensation package may also include incentive compensation in the form of discretionary bonuses in addition to base salary and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits. The salary range for this position is below.

$142,666.00 - $213,999.00
