We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Chicago, Illinois. The role involves a range of accounting tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management.
The Staff Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.
Responsibilities:- Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) operations, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and on time.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure all financial data aligns.
- Maintain general ledger, recording all financial transactions in an organized manner.
- Prepare journal entries as required, ensuring all financial transactions are accounted for.
- Conduct month-end close procedures, ensuring all financial data is updated and accurate.
- Manage Fixed Asset Accounting, maintaining accurate records of company assets.
- Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP to manage financial operations.
- Ensure all financial operations comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with the financial team to improve accounting processes and procedures.
- Assist with other accounting tasks as needed. • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) procedures and systems
- Capability to perform Bank Reconciliations accurately and in a timely manner
- Solid understanding and experience of working with General Ledger
- Ability to prepare and record Journal Entries as per company standards
- Expertise in performing Month End Close procedures effectively
- Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP accounting software
- Experience in Fixed Asset Accounting is essential
- Must possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines while ensuring attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role is desired
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and data analysis.
