We're seeking a seasoned Lead Substation Design Engineer to drive the technical delivery of FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) projects across various voltage classes, including distribution, sub-transmission, and transmission levels. This is an excellent opportunity to work on innovative engineering solutions and collaborate with top-tier experts in the field.

You will be expected to:

  • Serve as the technical lead for substation design on complex FACTS projects, overseeing the design and execution across distribution and transmission voltage classes.
  • Utilize industry standards (IEEE, IEC, NEC, NESC, NERC, ISO/RTO) to establish project requirements, review technical deliverables, and collaborate with owner and OEM teams.
  • Take ownership of researching non-standard substation design elements by reviewing white papers, technical publications, and standards.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical information to a diverse project team, including stakeholders with varying levels of technical knowledge.
  • Lead discussions with the owner's engineering team to address and resolve both technical and project management concerns.

You will also oversee technical troubleshooting as a technical expert, help identify client needs, and support team development.

Candidates should have 5 years experience in substation design or electrical engineering and a Bachelors degree in Engineering. Preferred requisites include a PE license, knowledge of SATCOM systems, FACTS technologies, IEC/IEEE standards, and protections and controls.
