Overview:
A father and son on the Upper East Side are seeking an afternoon housekeeper who can maintain a tidy home and cook simple dinners. The regular schedule is a guaranteed Monday through Friday from 3pm to 8pm. The family is seeking someone who is looking for longevity, as most of their employees have been with them for a long time!While the home is casual and informal, the team always works to their best. The role needs to have someone in place for May so they are ready to hire when the right candidate applies!
Note:The family consists of the husband, wife, three teenage daughters, and one teenage son. However, only the husband and son live there full-time. One of the daughters lives at boarding school, and the wife and the other two children live in Los Angeles full-time.
Cleaning and cooking for the entire family seldom occur during the school year. When the wife is in town, they usually go out to dinner. Although everyone lives in NYC over the Summer, the whole family travels quite a bit during these months so the focus will be on organizing and deep cleaning during this time.
Responsibilities:
- Cleaning a 5,000 sq ft duplex
- Laundry
- Organizing closets, kitchen cabinets, and other needed spaces
- Communicate any needed groceries, cleaning supplies, household or personal family supplies to the house manager
- Professional and capable
- Friendly and kind but not overly talkative
- Understands boundaries
- Must be comfortable around teenagers
- Must love dogs! A labradoodle lives in the apartment and another dog in the summer months
Qualifications:
HUGE PLUS: If the candidate is open to staying overnight at the apartment 5-6 nights a month while the Father travels and the son is home. During these overnights, the candidate would make sure the son is awake on time and gets out the door to school.He eats breakfast at school, so no cooking is needed (there would be an additional flat rate paid for overnights).
Requirements:
- Legal to work in the US
- Must have boundaries with the family
- Be a meticulous housekeeper
- Be able to prepare nightly meals
Salary and Benefits:
The family is offering a rate of $40/hr + Depending on experience.- Holidays are off
- Flexibility in the schedule when the family is traveling
