Streaming Lab Infrastructure Technician
Our client is a well-known multinational mass media and entertainment conglomerate and they are looking for a Streaming Lab Infrastructure Technician to join their growing team on a 12 month contract. The Streaming Lab Infrastructure Technician will work closely with the Lab & Network Manager to build, maintain, and support the lab environments essential for testing the client's app across multiple platforms.
You will handle day-to-day tasks related to lab hardware setup, including building device racks, managing network infrastructure, and ensuring all lab equipment is ready to support high-quality streaming tests. Your expertise with audio/video (AV) equipment and previous experience in a streaming lab setting will be crucial in enhancing our DAAS capabilities, ensuring smooth lab operations, and enabling high-bandwidth testing.

work hours: 8am to 5pm

responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, and maintain device racks with up to 30 test devices per rack, supporting the client's app across platforms.
- Run, test, and manage network cabling, including fiber optics, to ensure uninterrupted high bandwidth streaming and testing capabilities.
- Set up, configure, and troubleshoot AV equipment, including testing TVs and streaming devices, to maintain optimal testing conditions.
- Configure and maintain network switches to support Quality Engineers' testing requirements and ensure secure, high-speed connections across labs.
- Provide hands-on support to the Quality Engineering teams in using the lab infrastructure effectively, troubleshooting network issues, and ensuring uninterrupted access to remote testing tools.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment, configurations, and maintenance schedules. Document standard operating procedures for lab setup, network configurations, and AV system management.
