This role will be an integral part of advancing the company's capabilities further by retaining their future projects through to COD. The portfolio is utility-scale solar, storage and wind projects across ERCOT, MISO and the desire to expand into WECC too.
Job Description
The Lead Project Manager (Renewable Energy) will be responsible for:Project Oversight: Provide technical oversight and support for renewable energy projects(solar, wind, battery storage, etc.) from development up until construction. Ensure projects
adhere to design specifications, budgets, and timelines.Engineering Management: Coordinate and manage all engineering activities, including
design reviews, contractor selection, and technical approvals. Collaborate with externalengineering teams and consultants to ensure project quality and compliance with all
regulatory and environmental requirements.Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the primary technical liaison between the
development team, contractors, engineering consultants, and other stakeholders.Facilitate communication and ensure all parties are aligned on technical specifications, project goals, and deliverables.Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks related to engineering design, procurement, construction, and operational readiness.
Provide recommendations to
resolve technical issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that engineering designs and construction practices meet the
company's quality standards and best practices. Review and approve engineeringdeliverables, including detailed design packages, permitting documents, and contractor
proposals.
Budget and Schedule Control: Monitor engineering progress against project budgets and timelines. Report on key engineering milestones, manage cost control measures, and ensure the project remains within budget while maintaining technical excellence.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that engineering practices comply with all local, state, and national regulations and codes. Manage the permitting process and support the submission of necessary documentation to obtain required permits and approvals.
Problem-Solving and Issue Resolution: Actively identify technical challenges and issues throughout the development and construction phases. Collaborate with the project team to implement solutions and ensure project progression.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of engineering designs, changes, and approvals. Provide regular progress reports and updates to senior management and other stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant
The Lead Project Manager (Renewable Energy) will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or a related field). Advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in engineering management or project oversight in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on solar, wind, energy storage.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, design processes, and construction management.
- Experience in managing or overseeing multi-disciplinary engineering teams and contractors.
- Proficiency in reviewing engineering designs, schematics, and technical documents.
- Solid understanding of regulatory and permitting processes in the renewable energy sector.
- Experience with project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
- Ability to assess and manage technical risks effectively.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality assurance and risk mitigation.
